Leather Wolf Mask

Ohhhhh man, I haven't uploaded anything in months. I'm wayyyyy overdue for a deviation.

Here is one of the dozens of projects I've been working on for the past month. I wanted to get into leather making, thanks to Merimask, and with a few bucks and inspiration, I dove into making a leather mask as a means to practice.

The mask is 100% genuine leather with resin incisors, foam nose, and a leather strap that I will put in later on with eyelits. The entire mask is engraved/reliefed for that extra realistic fur detail, and painted with mostly fabric paint and a little bit of FW ink. However, I realized that fabric paint + engraving on leather /=/ is not the best option to go as far as getting into the details of the reliefing, since the fabric paint tends to really bulk-up the engraving and fills it up. Meh. Lesson learned. I also have to fix the nose, since it's floating too much, reinforce the teeth, and put fabric on the interior to prevent that scratchy-ness. Overall, I have some minor things to do/fix, but otherwise, this is the majority of itXD

I'm very proud with how it turned out, being my first time with leather. The mask looks better on the face, since it's more stretched-out and with more volume. I hope this will look good on my she-lycan costume
